50 days of River

Fifty days of River: Connection, isolation and everything in between.

Welcome to 50 Days of River

I’m Sarah, a mum and teacher writing about life with my autistic son, River. This website is a collection of notes I write as a kind of therapy: to connect with others going through something similar and to help people understand what caring for someone who’s a little different really looks like. It’s about the joy, the mess and all the little moments in between. I’m always honest, mostly hopeful and trying to be a bit funny along the way.

It all began with a blog to get me through the 50 days of the UK summer holidays.

Accessible Adventures in London

A family-friendly guide to London’s museums and attractions through the lens of autism and accessibility. What worked, what didn’t and practical tips for making days out smoother.

Hi, I’m Sarah. I started 50 Days of River to capture the small, everyday truths of parenting over our UK Summer Holiday.

River is developmentally and speech delayed and autistic. Through writing I’m learning to celebrate progress, laugh at chaos and share what helps us keep going.
